【摘要】:Thisguideisprimarilyintendedtoaiddecision-makersandspill-respondersincontingencyplanning,spillresponse,andtraining.Thisguideisnotspecifictoeithersiteortypeofoil.1.1Thisguidecoverstheuseofin-situburningtoassistinthecontrolofoilspillsonwater.Thisguideisnotapplicabletoin-situburningofoilonland.1.2Thepurposeofthisguideistoprovideinformationthatwillenablespillresponderstodecideifburningwillbeusedaspartoftheoilspillcleanupresponse.1.3Thisisageneralguideonly.Itisassumedthatconditionsatthespillsitehavebeenassessedandthattheseconditionsaresuitablefortheburningofoil.Itisalsoassumedthatpermissiontoburntheoilhasbeenobtainedfromappropriateregulatoryauthorities.Variationsinthebehaviorofdifferentoiltypesarenotdealtwithandmaychangesomeoftheparametersnotedinthisguide.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoinch-poundunitsthatareincludedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
