【摘要】:Thistestmethodisconsideredsatisfactoryforuseasarefereemethodforthedeterminationofthewoolbasecontentandthecleanwoolfiberpresentinalotofrawwool.Iftherearedifferencesofpracticalsignificancebetweenreportedtestresultsfortwolaboratories(ormore),comparativetestshouldbeperformedtodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweenthem,usingcompetentstatisticalassistance.Asaminimum,usethesamplesforsuchacomparativetestthatareashomogenousaspossible,drawnfromthesamelotofmaterialasthesamplesthatresultedinthedisparateresultsduringtheinitialtestingandrandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratory.Thetestresultsfromthelaboratoriesinvolvedshouldbecomparedusingastatisticaltestforunpaireddata,probabilitylevelchosenpriortothetestingseries.Ifbiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrected,orfutureresultsforthatmaterialbeadjustedinconsiderationoftheknownbias.Thistestmethodisalsousedinstudiesaimedatderivingsuitableformulasforestimatingtheallowancestobemadeforwoolunavoidablylostordestroyedinsuchcommercialoperationsascarding,combing,orcarbonizing.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthewoolbasecontentandthecleanwoolfiberpresentinalotofrawwoolbycommercial-scalescouringofthelotfollowedbylaboratorytestsonsamplesofthescouredwool.Note1ThesamplingoflotsofrawwoolinpackagesiscoveredinPracticeD1060,andthedeterminationofthewoolcontentofsuchsamplesiscoveredinTestMethodD584.Thedeterminationofvegetablematterandotheralkali-insolubleimpuritiesinscouredwooliscoveredinTestMethodD1113.Forfactorsfortheconversionofwoolbasecontenttoitsequivalentintermsofscouredwool,top,ornoilofvariouscommerciallyspecifiedcompositions,refertoPracticeD2720.Note2ThevaluesstatedinU.S.CustomaryUnitsaretoberegardedasthestandardbecauseofcommoncommercialpractice.TheS.I.unitsinparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.Note3Becauseoftradepracticetheterm"weight"isusedinthistestmethodinsteadofthetechnicallycorrectterm"mass".Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
