【摘要】:Corrugatedaluminumpipefunctionsstructurallyasaflexibleringwhichissupportedbyandinteractswiththecompactedsurroundingsoil.Thesoilconstructedaroundthepipeisthusanintegralpartofthestructuralsystem.Itisthereforeimportanttoensurethatthesoilstructureorbackfillismadeupofacceptablematerialandiswell-constructed.FieldverificationofsoilstructureacceptabilityusingTestMethodsD1556,D2167,D2937,orD6938asapplicable,andcomparingtheresultswithTestMethodD698inaccordancewiththespecificationsforeachproject,isthemostreliablebasisforinstallationofanacceptablestructure.Therequireddensityandmethodofmeasurementarenotspecifiedbythispractice,buttheymustbeestablishedinthespecificationsforeachproject.1.1Thispracticedescribesprocedures,soils,andsoilplacementfortheproperinstallationofcorrugatedaluminumculvertsandstormsewersineithertrenchorprojectioninstallations.AtypicaltrenchinstallationisshowninFig.1,andatypicalembankment(projection)installationisshowninFig.2.Thepipesdescribedinthispracticearemanufacturedinafactoryandfurnishedtothejobinlengthsordinarilyfrom10to30ft[3to9m],with20ft[6m]beingcommon,forfieldjoining.ThispracticeappliestostructuresdesignedinaccordancewithPracticeB790/B790M.1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.2.1SIUnits8212;SIunitsareshowninthetextinbrackets,andtheyaretheapplicablevaluesformetricinstallation.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.FIG.1TypicalTrenchInstallationFIG.2TypicalEmbankment(Projection)Installation
