【摘要】:Thistestmethodisanindicatorofapotentialsealingproblemthatcouldoccurifasealantbackingisflawedinmanufactureortransportationtothejobsite,orabusedduringtheinstallation.Ifflawed,somesealantbackingmaterials,incombinationwithcertainenvironmentalconditions,canoutgas,generatingvoidsintheappliedsealantbeforethesealantcures,therebypotentiallycompromisingthecuredsealant''sintendedperformance.Voidsarealsoknowntobecausedbyothermeansandundercertainconditionssuchasairentrapmentduringsealantapplication,trappedairinthesubstratereleasingintotheuncuredsealant,incompatibilityofthesealantwiththesealantbackingorsubstrate,orinhospitableinstallationconditionsinthefield.Thistestmethodislimitedtoidentifyingtheoutgassingpotentialofapuncturedsealantbackingbyformationofavoidinthesoftuncuredsealantunderconditionsofheatandcompression.1.1Thistestmethodprovidesaprocedurefordeterminingtheoutgassingpotentialofasealantbackingwhenitispuncturedduringorafterinstallation,withthepunctureoccurringbeforethesealantcures.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
