【摘要】:1.1Thesetestmethodsforimpacttestingcoverthedetailsofapparatus,testspecimensandproceduresforcastiron,includinggrayiron,whiteiron,malleableiron,ductileiron,andaustemperedductileiron,butnotincludingchilledrollsorrollswithwhiteironskins.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Acompanionstandard,A327,listsvaluesininch-poundunits.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.3TheCharpy-typeimpacttestshallbeemployedfortestinggrayandwhiteirons.1.4Eitherthestandardnotchedorunnotchedcharpyimpacttestshallbeemployedintestingofmalleableorductileirons.SelectionofthetypebarisdependentuponthespecificmaterialtobeevaluatedasdefinedinSection.1.5Bothtypesofcharpybarshavebeendesignatedtocharacterizethefracturetoughnessofirons.Theunnotchedcharpybar,whentested,willproducesubstantiallyhigherenergyvaluesthanthenotchbartype.Theunnotchedbaristhereforespecifiedfortestingironsthathavelowfracturetoughnesscharacteristics.
